Foursquare? No, thanks

Today I want to talk about social media and among the new, Foursquare is one of my favorites.
I do not want a clone of my post a few months ago I love Twitter ... but the truth is that I also love Foursquare (4SQ to his friends) because I think it has enormous potential in the field of social media marketing, but also simply because ... I like it! Two words to say what
4SQ for those who still do not know him well (and I apologize to my twitter followers, instead, they know what 4SQ!).
This is a hybrid between a "social city guide and a game. It is based on the phenomenon of geotagging (or "tag" a place) and allows you to create a map of its most popular spots and share info with friends or favorite places on councils (or detested).
Foursquare works like this: when you are in a place you check-in (via phone) and this allows you to earn points and unlock badges (which are distinctive virtual). The more you do check-in at the same place and the more you have the chance to become the Mayor (mayor) of that virtual place. Each time, moreover, that you check in you can choose to send a notification that you are at that place by mail to all the friends of Foursquare, via Facebook and Twitter.
Well having said that we must immediately say that open infinite possibilities of marketing for companies (of any kind) ... yes, but one must be able to exploit these opportunities well. And this is not a matter of course, since that what I saw today.
Yesterday I added between the Friends 4SQ www.travelitalia.com this morning and started getting email notifications every 10-15 minutes that contain the name of places in Milan in which this "user "would check-in.
I would say though that at this level it is genuine and not spam at all is simulated to discover" new "places. I want to know what is the point in spamming and what is exactly this way, people check in with the Columns of San Lorenzo, after 2 minutes (in number) at the Royal Palace, after another 5 minutes to the Castello Sforzesco, etc.. (Among other things remain the same 4-5 places ..) and 'clearly a pilot (also bad!), it would be desirable to teach these people to "read" better. You can find alternative ways to "engage" more people and keep the part of the game (because the spam that has invaded my mail today does not have anything funny), please?
But these companies really think that the users are so stupid and passive? They like to be treated so stupid?
www.travelitalia.com At least now this is canceled by the Friends 4SQ.
But I'd like to see companies (or anyone who wants to promote it) better use foursquare ... and if you are not capable, do it! otherwise you only do damage ...
Obviously this is just my opinion. Maybe the experts 4SQ (there are "experts" of this social network?) Say that marketing 3.0 is done so ... I personally have some doubts.

Meanwhile I received another 3 emails with check in at the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, the Duomo and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana ...
