Edible Glitter For Drinks
Aspettando il Natale con il Design
Bene, ormai manca poco al Natale, e parliamo di design natalizio...
Ricercando un po', ho trovato vari oggetti originali, come le lampade da terra Slide-Lightree , della designer Loetizia Censi. In polietilene stampato, hanno la forma dell'abete di natale, simpatiche da collocare in terrazza o in casa per illuminare le nostre serate festive.
Simpatico è anche Il Panettone in versione Pantone, ideato by the London Purpose. Done in 5 colors of the Pantone palette, is a nice idea for the classic cake under the tree, and an excuse for fans of the design to bring to the table during the holidays.
lamps Astro Lux Metal, Chrome with transparent glass, seem to remember the curling flakes of gifts.
study Chilean gt2P created Twin Shelves for Christmas 2010, white modular shelves with soft shapes, obtained with a parametric design using Voronoi geometry. Points have been converted from digital forms in real objects.
Made of MDF, these shelves can also be combined and used as libraries, or as shelves for storing items, books and more.
And finally, the Christmas Pudding Bin Bags, designer Wieden and Kennedy, an unusual idea for after-dinner party, when you find yourself with lots of garbage bags filled out the door. So why not make the nice thing about using these envelopes with drawn on a Christmas pudding ...

Le Foglie di Design non sono decidue
È ancora Autunno, e le foglie cadono. Guardando gli alberi, in questi giorni mi sono chiesta se nel campo del Design le foglie continuano ad ispirare gli artisti ed i designer, così ricercando ho trovato qualcosa di interessante...
L'artista Fabrizio Corneli ha pensato a questa poltroncina "Foglia" realizzata in lamiera e tondini di ferro verniciati in verde, con cuscini in dacron e cotone verde. La forma richiama una foglia piegata, la poltroncina è stata oggetto di molte esposizioni da parte dell'artista.
Questi piatti shaped leaves are the Designer Nao Tamura, who was inspired by nature in the Japanese tradition. These flat-leaf resemble the leaves of the cherry, are velvety and silicone, which is also flexible and can be rolled or folded around the food, are suitable for dishwasher and microwave, and also great for outdoor picnics.
The designer, who works in New York, with this dish "Seasons" won the prize in the field of Salone Satellite 2010 in food design. Each dish has a different shape and size, creating a striking composition of natural food.
"Dew Drop" is a watering can original, consisting of a leaf irrigating the plants with the principle of condensing, extracting water from a device. Put the jar in the artificial leaf and connects to the plug, this will create condensation on the leaf that falls into the vessel while keeping our plants watered.

Un mondo di Codici a Barre da buttare via? No, ci sono i Droog che ne fanno "Design"
We are in a world of Bar Code, the Bar Code, the idea was born Norman Joseph Woodland in 1948, to meet the need of his employer who wanted to automate cash transactions. The first experiments used a Morse code, arranged vertically, which was later replaced by bar codes oval. Over time it became clear that the bars oval burrs created in print, as well Woodland in 1973 at the IBM development of linear bar codes, the "UPC" (Universal Product Code).
The codes are the most used currently is the 'EAN (European Article Number) code and Farmacode or 32.

Seguendo il loro esempio mi son divertita a creare un codice a barre per il logo del blog.
Attualmente molti designer si stanno sbizzarrendo con i codici a barre creando oggetti o prodotti commestibili. È il caso di "Chocode", un cioccolatino ideato dal Food Designer Paolo Barichella con la collaborazione del pasticcere Pierpalo Magni. Si tratta di una tavoletta di cioccolato la cui confezione di carta ha come disegno il codice a barre, che praticamente diventa un motivo estetico e funzionale per il packaging del cioccolatino.
Un altro originale oggetto è questo porta CD del designer Marián Laššák, costituito da bande di un codice a barre, dove si possono inserire i CD ad altezze differenti.
Barcode Chandelier di Mobilet design Studio, è un lampadario che si ispira al codice a barre. Tagliato al laser, è in acrilico trasparente e nero.
I radiatori Zavar richiamano anche loro il motivo dei codici a barre. Realizzati in acciaio, hanno varie bande piatte con diversi spessori. Sicuramente un radiatore originale che si appresta ad be included in a modern and creative.
Beep Mug of Irish design Colin O'Dowd, is a cup where the bar code becomes a motive for aesthetic design of the cup itself and then, as well as being convenient, it is also a different way conception of the barcode.

What Do The Colored Plastic Bracelets Mean

The Cocktail Lab: a social experiment in Mixology
Also this month Wired number Us iPad succeeded to get the wow effect as early as the second page. And not with editorial content, but with advertising, too.
As many may be aware, Wired Us iPad is not just a magazine, it's something unique (for now) worldwide. Yes, because one would expect simply to "browse" a magazine on the electronic device, but there is much, much more. There is interaction at 360 °, there are audio, video, games and interactive images (imagine an article of a normal magazine, with a large photo in the middle that represents more than one object and imagine that every time you click on an object, to happen something: Check another oggetto nella pagina, si attiva un video dove un tizio dentro un televisore ti parla di quell'argomento, si attiva un suono connesso a quell'oggetto, etc).
Ieri sera ho scaricato il terzo numero di Wired e, subito dopo la copertina, la schermata presentava una pubblicità. Questo si capiva a colpo d'occhio perchè campeggiava una bottiglia con scritto "Tequila 100% de Agave" e sotto "Silver Patròn". Poi accanto c'era un pay off in grande. Io, però, quello che era scritto non l'ho neppure letto perchè la mia attenzione è stata subito catturata da un rettangolino in basso dove era scritto "START". Se in una pubblicità siamo abituati a vedere scritte che ci dicono quanto buono è quel prodotto, siamo meno abituati a vedere pulsanti con scritto Start (soprattutto su quella che dovrebbe essere una rivista!), che fanno subito pensare che, dopo aver fatto click, qualcosa accadrà.
Clicco su start e mi appare la pagina di login di Facebook. Resto un pò spiazzata, perchè mi aspettavo un video (ad esempio, nelle pubblicità che si trovano nelle riviste su iPad italiane si trova la pubblicità della Vodafone e, una volta cliccato sul pulsante play, parte il video con Totti e Hilary che già conosciamo dalla pubblicità televisiva)...e allora torno indietro a leggere bene. Quello che avevo scambiato per un pay off in realtà diceva (in inglese) "Patròn sta portando avanti un social media experiment" e sotto, più in piccolo, "Abbiamo dato la caccia senza sosta a nuovi grandi cocktail. Poi abbiamo pensato a quante "libagioni" sono state inventate e perse per sempre..."
Infine capisco il perchè della schermata di Facebook. Perchè Patròn aveva creato Patròn Cocktail Lab su FB dove era possibile caricare l'immagine e gli ingredienti del cocktail creato e votare i migliori.
A questo punto ho cliccato nuovamente su start e sono entrata nella fan page di questa Tequila, Patron Cocktail Lab. La descrizione sotto la foto dice " A mixology think tank, powered by you. In the search of the perfect drink. " Fondata nel 2010, la pagina conta più di 17.000 fans.
Entrando nell'applicazione è possibile accedere al form dove si può caricare la foto del cocktail appena creato, indicare il nome che gli abbiamo dato e fare la lista degli ingredienti. Una volta completato il form, il cocktail da noi creato sarà pubblicato e potrà essere votato.
Una bella iniziativa, a costo molto basso, per ottenere ampia visibilità, per fidelizzare le persone al proprio brand e, soprattutto, per far sentire importanti proprio le persone. Infatti, come recita lo slogan della pagina del Cocktail Lab, Cocktail ideas and inspiration from someone who knows best: YOU.
E a proposito del costo nullo di creare questa fan page, non posso non consigliare un libro I started reading yesterday (iPad, which costs less than the paper version) but I have already achieved, Free of Chris Anderson (he, the editor of Wired Us).
"Here lies the paradox of the free: there are people who earn a lot of money without getting paid anything."
Here, Patron Tequila seemed a good example of what can be get with the free, an example to share with those who do not have the opportunity to buy Wired iPad (but certainly is on Facebook!).
Thanks to Wired for iPad U.S. which is always a step forward (but It takes very little to be a step forward compared to what you can see, in this area, Italy) and that makes me almost feel as if now, instead of being in Milan, I was in a Starbucks in New York to "browse" this "interactive magazine", thanks to a free wifi connection (still a utopia, unfortunately, in Italy).

A questo punto ho cliccato nuovamente su start e sono entrata nella fan page di questa Tequila, Patron Cocktail Lab. La descrizione sotto la foto dice " A mixology think tank, powered by you. In the search of the perfect drink. " Fondata nel 2010, la pagina conta più di 17.000 fans.
Entrando nell'applicazione è possibile accedere al form dove si può caricare la foto del cocktail appena creato, indicare il nome che gli abbiamo dato e fare la lista degli ingredienti. Una volta completato il form, il cocktail da noi creato sarà pubblicato e potrà essere votato.
Una bella iniziativa, a costo molto basso, per ottenere ampia visibilità, per fidelizzare le persone al proprio brand e, soprattutto, per far sentire importanti proprio le persone. Staccandosi dalla pura e semplice imitazione della natura, la Biomimetica è andata oltre, studiandone la genetica ed i suoi codici, cercando di simularne gli aspetti meccanici e biologici.
La natura nell'arco dei millenni ha saputo selezionare ciò che era più durevole ed efficiente, ha selezionato forme, tessuti, sostanze e materie che sempre più si comportano davanti ai nostri occhi come misteri da esplorare.
Applicare e studiare oggi la Biomimetica in architettura significa vederla evolvere, potrebbe essere una nuova svolta per l'architettura, l'esplorazione di forme finora sconosciute.
Ecco alcuni esempi di design e di architetture Biomimetiche.
Matsys nato nel 2004, è uno studio di design dove sperimentano nuovi tipi di materiali e texture nell'ambito della Biomimetica, come ad esempio alcune strutture realizzate con aggregazioni di cellule-moduli a forma di esagono, a nido d'ape, che vengono classificate come geometrie Voronoi .
Questa ricerca, svolta presso l' Architectural Association (AA) di Londra, sviluppa il sistema a nido d'ape che si adatta a varie esigenze spaziali.
Realizzate in gesso e tessuti elastici, queste strutture si prestano ad essere modellate a piacimento. Con l'aiuto di un software si inseriscono i dati fisici necessari a sviluppare la struttura, il software crea una nube di punti che poi vengono tradotti nelle cellule tridimensionali
C-Wall è un'altra struttura di aggregazione a nido d'ape studiata da Matsys nel 2006, sperimentando come nell'altra struttura le geometrie Voronoi, che qui sono utilizzate per tradurre e materializzare dati provenienti da simulazioni di particelle e dai dati dei punti base. Questi verranno trasformati in cellule tridimensionali, poi dispiegate in fogli bidimensionali and cut with CNC technology, only to be reassembled in size.

Matsys Another research was carried out with P-Wall, made of plaster and elastic materials, to study the effect of noise and visual material. Here the basic points generated by the software have defined the position of the anchors that define the elasticity of the formwork, this was cast in plaster, which expands under the weight of the liquid itself, and thus creates a series of panels, where the strained liquid expands and takes its shape.

Lo studio HOK collabora con Biomimicry Guild , un'organizzazione fondata da biologi che aiuta architetti ed ingegneri a risolvere le problematiche che incontrano nelle strutture, avvicinandoli alla Biomimetica; in questo momento è l'unico gruppo che si dedica a ciò.
Hanno studiato insieme un progetto per la futura città di Atlanta, studiando una sorta di pelle per questi edifici, cellule che si comportano come foglie, assorbendo CO2, acqua ed energia solare, per produrre ossigeno e raccogliere l'acqua per la rete idrica cittadina.
Insomma l'architettura in un futuro potrebbe sempre più assecondare la natura e mimetizzarsi con essa, imitandone parametri fisici e biologici.
Anche se siamo solo all'inizio di un nuovo modo di fare architettura, possiamo ritenerci soddisfatti di saper di poter raggiungere traguardi unici finora inesplorati.
